MLW RSC-14
Encyclopedia : M : ML : MLW : MLW RSC-14
The MLW RSC-14 (RS-18m) was a diesel-electric locomotive built by Montreal Locomotive Works as RS-18s. Canadian National Railway (CN) rebuilt some of these MLW RS-18s into RSC-14s for branch line work on Prince Edward Island (PEI).
The trucks on these locomotives were of A-1-A configuration that were on CN's MLW RSC-13s and MLW RSC-24s.
After the abandonment of all rail lines in PEI, most of these locomotives moved to Nova Scotia (NS), and then all to Moncton, New Brunswick (NB). Most were retired or sold in 1996.
There are only two of these locomotives left in Canada:
CN 1754 at the Salem & Hillsborough Railroad CN 1762 at the former train station in Kensington, Prince Edward Island
