Mackenna's Gold, released in 1969, is John Lee Thompson's ambitious variation on Erich von Stroheim's Greed, with Gregory Peck as the hero in search of lost gold while Apaches and Omar Sharif (as a Mexican) try to foil him. It also stars Julie Newmar (Catwoman on TV's Batman) as a skinny-dipping Apache dame.
Story
A gangster named Colorado kidnaps Marshall Mackenna. He believes that McKenna has seen a map which leads to a rich vein of gold in the mountains and forces him to show him the way. Later on they find out that many others are searching for the gold leading to a race to find the gold between them.External link
