Maidstone Golf Club is an 18-hole private golf course on the Atlantic Ocean in East Hampton (village), New York.
The Club derives its name from Maidstone, England, which was the original name for East Hampton. The Club founded in 1891 was originally designed by William H. Tucker and is one of the first 100 golf courses in the United States.[link]
Willie Park, Jr [link] designed the 80-acre Gardiner Peninsula addition in 1922.[link]
The Club was in the news during the 2004 Presidential Election because the parents of Democratic primary candidate Howard Dean were purported to be members.
