Major Organ and the Adding Machine
Encyclopedia : M : MA : MAJ : Major Organ and the Adding Machine
Major Organ and the Adding Machine is thought to be the side project of Neutral Milk Hotel's Jeff Mangum and Julian Koster. After submitting a track to a Kindercore Records Christmas compilation in 1997, they recorded a self-titled album and released it on Orange Twin Records in 2001.
The liner notes of their album leave it a mystery as to who officially is featured. It is generally believed that Mangum and Koster are the main musicians in the group, but it is believed that a variety of Elephant Six musicians also contributed, including members of The Olivia Tremor Control, Elf Power, and Of Montreal.
Discography
The band also submitted a version of "What a Wonderful World" to the Kindercore Records compilation album Christmas in Stereo, released in 1997
