Malazgirt (formerly also called Manzikert or Malâzgird) is a town in Muş Province, eastern Turkey, with a population of 23,697 (year 2000).

Manzikert was an important trading post of the ancient Kingdom of Armenia.

The Battle of Manzikert was fought near Manzikert in August of 1071. In one of the worst defeats in the Byzantine Empire's history, Emperor Romanus Diogenes was defeated and captured by the Seljuk sultan Alp Arslan.
