Marcel Hossa (born October 12, 1981 in Ilava, Czechoslovakia, now Slovakia) is a Slovak ice hockey player for the New York Rangers (he originally played his first three seasons for the Montreal Canadiens) franchise of the National Hockey League. He wears sweater number 81, playing either left or right wing. He was selected in the first round of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, 16th overall, by the Montreal Canadiens.
He shoots left-handed. His size (6 feet 2 inches, 211 pounds) is an asset for playing in the corners. He is more suited to the offensive zone, since his defensive skills are sometimes questioned. His older brother, Marian Hossa, is a superstar who currently plays for the Atlanta Thrashers.
