Portrayed by  Adam Baldwin

Marcus Hamilton is a recurring character on the final season of the TV series Angel. He was played by actor Adam Baldwin, who also worked with Angel creator Joss Whedon in the series Firefly.

Hamilton was one of the final villains to appear in Angel. He isn't a human being, as Illyria refers to him as a "creature". In fact, Hamilton is one of the Children of the Senior Partners, but unlike Eve, he wasn't created recently merely to act as the Senior Partner's liaison. Hamilton was created by the Senior Partners a long time ago, as he had already clashed with Drogyn the Battlebrand before he became the Guardian of the Deeper Well. Their history is unknown but they clearly considered each other to be a worthy adversary.

It was believed that he had been sent by the Senior Partners to kill Eve, but he instead was sent to replace her as Angel's liaison to the Senior Partners. This arrangement was contrary to Eve's perception as she sought protection from Angel, thinking Hamilton was sent to kill her. This was not altogether false since while in the employ of the Senior Partners, Eve enjoyed an eternal youth that was revoked upon her termination.

Having succeeded Eve, Hamilton makes it clear from the start he is not like her and will not be pushed about as the Senior Partners presumably felt Eve had been. He takes to advising Angel very closely when the latter joins the Circle of the Black Thorn, going as far as kidnapping Drogyn so he can be used as a sacrifice during Angel's initiation in the circle. However Hamilton remained wary of the ensouled vampire, suspecting he might betray Wolfram and Hart. With amazing strength surging in his blood, he is able to withstand a vampire attack as well as defeat a depowered Illyria.

Upon realising that Angel has been feeding him misleading information via Harmony and that Angel's loyalties are still tied to good, he immediately turns on him and tries to kill him, but Angel fends him off with the aid of his son Connor. However, during the battle Hamilton inadvertently reveals the source of his power. Angel drinks from Hamilton and absorbs his supercharged blood, which gives Angel the strength he needs to finally defeat him.

Hamilton's death prompts the Senior Partners to rescind Angel's contract with the firm and unleash their punishment, which includes an earthquake that destroys the W&H Los Angeles branch and later a horde of demons sent to make an example of Angel and his crew.

PLEASE DISCUSS CHARACTER ADDITTIONS/REMOVALS BEFORE MAKING CHANGES AT (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Buffyverse#Buffyverse-box_character_inclusions)

This box cannot/shouldn't be including every Buffyverse character. Some suggested guidelines are:

"The people who appeared in the opening credits (Scooby Gang & Fang Gang/FG) appear in the box, and the most important villains/friends who had a significant emotional impact on multiple of those opening credits characters - as long as they have a significant episode count, and preferably if they appear in three or more seasons."
