Sophie Marie Dorothea Auguste Louise of Württemberg or Maria Fyodorovna (Russian: )(25 October, 1759 - 5 November, 1828) the second wife of Tsar Paul I of Russia. She was born in Stettin to Friedrich II Eugen, Duke of Württemberg (21 January, 1732 - 23 December, 1797) and his wife Friederike Dorothea of Brandenburg-Schwedt (18 December, 1736 - 9 March, 1798).
Ancestors
Maria's paternal grandparents were Karl Alexander, Duke of Württemberg (24 January, 1684 - 12 March, 1737) and his wife Marie-Auguste, daughter of Anselm Franz, Prince of Thurn und Taxis. Karl Alexander had become Duke of Württemberg in 1733 following his long service under Charles VI, Holy Roman Emperor.
Maria's maternal grandfather, Frederick William, Margrave of Brandenburg-Schwedt (27 December, 1700 - 4 March, 1771), was son to Philip William, Margrave of Brandenburg-Schwedt (1669 - 1711) and his wife Joanna Charlotte of Anhalt-Dessau (1682 - 1750). He was also grandson to Friedrich Wilhelm I of Brandenburg and his second wife Dorothea of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg (28 September, 1636 - 6 August, 1689).
Maria's maternal grandmother was Princess Sophie Dorothee Marie of Prussia (25 January, 1719 - 13 November, 1765). She was the daughter of Frederick William I of Prussia and his wife Princess Sophia Dorothea of Hanover.
Marriage and Issue
Maria married Paul on 7 October, 1776. Their marriage resulted in the birth of ten children:
- Alexander I of Russia
- Grand Duke Constantine of Russia
- Grand Duchess Alexandra of Russia (9 August, 1783 - 16 March, 1801). On 30 October, 1799, she married Joseph Anton, Archduke of Austria, a son of Leopold II, Holy Roman Emperor.
- Grand Duchess Elena of Russia (24 December, 1784 - 24 September, 1803). On 23 October, 1799 she married Frederick Ludvig of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, a son of Friedrich Franz I of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. Their son became Paul Friedrich of Mecklenburg-Schwerin.
- Maria Pavlovna of Russia
- Grand Duchess Catherine of Russia (21 May, 1788 - 19 January, 1831). She was Queen Consort to William I of Württemberg.
- Grand Duchess Olga of Russia (22 July, 1792 - 26 January, 1795).
- Grand Duchess Anna Pavlovna of Russia , married William II of the Netherlands. Their son would eventually become William III of the Netherlands

- Grand Duke Michael of Russia
