Whilst Mario and Princess Peach visit a funfair, Bowser appears to ruin it. With his lackeys, he steals Peach, and Mario must save her. He does this by using a machine that makes him spherical, allowing for the pinball action of the game.

Gameplay

In typical Mario fashion, Mario must explore different areas to reach his aim of saving the princess. There are 5 different worlds, consisting of an ice world, a desert world, the funfare area, a hilly area and, of course, Bowser's castle. To proceed, Mario must collect enough stars to open specific doors (Like Super Mario 64). There are over 35 stars to collect, but more is needed to advance. With a boss in each world, Mario has his work cut out for him.

Reception

The game was generally very poorly received. Reviewers criticized the game as pointlessly difficult, saying "winning in the game is more a question of luck than skill" but praising the excellent graphics.
