Marion Martin

Marion Martin (June 7, 1908 - August 13, 1985), born Marion Suplee in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was a movie and stage actress. Daughter of wel-to-do Bethlehem Steel executive, Martin went to exclusive schools until her family lost their fortune in the Wall Street Crash of 1929. Forced to work, Martin found work as a corine in one of Earl Carroll's stage revues. However, legendary Florenz Ziegfeld, Jr. who helped her to gain fame to replace Gypse Rose Lee in 1933. Not only Martin was successful on Broadway, but also in the movies, even though she didn't make anything higher than B-movies.
Martin died in 1985 in Santa Monica, California.
Martin has a "Star" on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
