Mark Powell is the current Federal President of the Young Liberals (Australia) and has previously held various positions in the Queensland Division of the Liberal Party of Australia.

In 2005, Powell won the number 3 position on the Senate ticket alongside Ian McDonald and Santo Santoro.

Joining in 1996, Powell has held numerous positions in his rise to the top of Young Liberals politics in Australia and been involved in many campaigns at all levels of government.

He began his involvement in Liberal politics in Queensland University of Technology Student Guild where he organised and was involved in a number of Liberal-aligned election teams.

He is also a member of the following Associations Australian National Flag Association, Institute of Public Affairs, Gold Coast Turf Club, Centre for Independent Studies, Sir Samuel Griffith Society, HR Nicholls Society, Economics Society of Australia, New South Wales Law Society.
