Markham Road

Markham Road is a north-south route in Markham and Toronto. The section was downloaded from the province of Ontario and renamed from King's Highway 48 or Highway 48 to the old name of Markham Road. The current road stretches from Lake Ontario to Markham's northern border.
North of Steeles Avenue and south of 16th Avenue, Markham Road is referred to as York Regional Road 68. Markham Road reappears as King's Highway 48 north of 16th Avenue.
Some of the provincial highway designation signs continue to exist along the York Regional Road 68.
