Martinair is both a charter and scheduled airline based in the Netherlands, with daily passenger or cargo charter and regular flights to many destinations around the world from its main base of Schiphol International Airport (AMS) near Amsterdam.

Martinair occasionally flies certain flights instead of KLM. Martinair also flies some destinations full time with KLM code. The airline has hubs at Sharjah International Airport (SHJ), Hong Kong International Airport (HKG), Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) and Miami International Airport (MIA).

International scheduled services (as of March 2006): Bridgetown, Calgary, Crown Point, Cancún, Colombo, Edmonton, Havana, Holguin, Kingston, Malé, Miami, Montego Bay, Orlando, Porlamar, Punta Cana, Puerto Plata, San José, Toronto, Vancouver and Varadero.

Martinair also operates charter flights inside Europe and North Africa with single class Airbus A320 aircraft, and in peak times converts one or two of its McDonnell Douglas MD-11 aircraft to carry extra passengers.

The largest scheduled block of flights is Martinair's freight operation, utilising MD-11 and Boeing 747 aircraft, operating scheduled freight flights worldwide.

Fleet

The Martinair fleet consists of the following aircraft (at April 2006): Martinair average fleet age is 12.2 years old in June 2006.

From November 2006 the first of four Boeing 747-400 BCF's (Boeing Converted Freighter) will be introduced to gradually replace the existing Jumbo's.
