Matthew Baillie

Matthew Baillie (born October 27, 1761 in Shotts, North Lanarkshire; died September 23, 1823 in Gloucestershire, England) was a Scottish physician and pathologist.
Matthew was the brother of poetress Joanna Baillie. Together with Edward Jenner, he was a pupil of John Hunter. He was educated at Hamilton Grammer School and the University of Glasgow.
Baillie specialised in morbid anatomy.
Baillie died in 1823 of phthisis. He is buried in Duntisbourne, Gloucestershire.
