Matthias Jabs (born October 25, 1956 in Hanover, Germany) is a German guitarist and songwriter. He is a member of the hard rock band Scorpions. Before joining the Scorpions, Matthias had played for the bands Lady and Fargo.
Matthias joined the Scorpions after Ulrich Roth left the band in 1979. The first album recorded by Matthias with the Scorpions was Lovedrive. Matthias's playing contributed significantly to the band's signature sound.
Matthias favors Gibson Explorer guitars, but he also has a signature Fender Stratocaster dubbed "Jabocaster". Matthias is notable for his playing of a talk box in some songs (such as "The Zoo" on Animal Magnetism and "To Be No. 1" on Eye II Eye).
Matthias has also been known to replace the Marshall amplification logo on his amplifier cabinets with his own name in the same font style as the Marshall logo.
