Max Fiedler

Max Fiedler (born 21 December 1859, Zittau, Germany, died 1 December 1939, Stockholm) was a German conductor and composer. He studied in Leipzig and then became taught at the Hamburg Conservatory. In 1904 he became conductor of the Hamburg Philharmonic Orchestra. In 1908 he left for the United States to conduct in Boston. After this he returned to Germany, conducting in Essen until 1933. His compositions include a symphony, overture, piano quintet, string quartet, and piano pieces and songs.
