The Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry (Karl-Friedrich Bonhoeffer Institute) is located in Goettingen, Germany. It was created in 1971 by merging the Max Planck Institute for Physical Chemistry and the Max Planck Institute for Spectroscopy. It is one institute in the Max Planck Society (Max Planck Gesellschaft), and currently comprises ten departments.
