His Serene Highness Duke Maximilian of Hohenberg (29 September 1902 - 8 January 1962) was the eldest son of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria and his morganatic wife Sophie, Duchess of Hohenberg.

He was born as HSH Prince Maximilian of Hohenberg, but in 1917 was made HSH Duke Maximilian of Hohenberg.

Following the assassination of his parents, Maximilian, his sister, Sophie and their brother, Ernst, were taken in by their father's brother in law and shooting partner Prince Jaroslav von Thun und Hohenstein.

Until late 1919, they were exiled from Czechoslovakia, losing all their possessions there and took refuge in Vienna and Schloß Artstetten. But in 1938, following the Anschluß they were arrested and deported to Dachau concentration camp where they spent most of the Nazi era.

Maximilian married Countess Maria von Waldburg zu Wolfegg und Waldsee on 16 November 1926. He had six children by her, all sons:
