McGlynn Racing is a NASCAR team. Owned by Ray McGlynn. they currently field the #74 MyGuardian911.com Dodge in the NEXTEL Cup Series. They first ventured into NASCAR in 1999, fielding an effort for McGlynn's son Ryan. In 2004, they teamed up with Carl Long to field a limited Cup effort, and Long helped them get into several races. However, in the fall of 2005, Long was released from the ride due to pressure from sponsors. Derrike Cope has taken his place.
2006 has not started as well as hoped. Expectations were high as they landed a new major sponsor in MyGuardian911. Unfortunately, the first race the team was able to qualify for was Texas (7th race of the season), and although they ran more than 100 laps, the car experienced alternator troubles and had to be parked. They have made two more races since, but have finished last in both.
