Meade Senior High School is public secondary school for grades 9 through 12 located at Fort Meade, Maryland and is administered by Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Since its opening in 1977, Meade High School has been accreditated by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Secondary Schools.

Academics

Course curriculum departments includes: Art, Army JROTC, Business Education, English, Family & Consumer Counseling, Foreign Language (Spanish, French, German), Mathematics, Music, Physical & Health Education, Science, Social Sciences, Special Education, and Technology Education.

Extracurricular activities and clubs

All Meade students are encouraged to participate in one or more clubs or activities, including: Math Club, It's Academic, National Honor Society, Computer Club, FBLA, Step Squad, Key Club, Drill Team, Dance Club, Multicultural Team, DECA, Newspaper, Literary Magazine, Yearbook, Student Government, Band, and Drama.

Meade Senior High School is perceived as one of the worst among Anne Arundel County schools, although some believe that reputation is unjustified [link]. This negative reputation was bolstered in 2005, when Principal Joan Valentine was accused of blocking efforts to investigate the beating of one student by 10 to 15 other students in January of that year [link].
