Med-x

Med-x was a punk rock band formed in El Paso, Texas in 2003. Although lineup changes were common thoughout the early stages of the band, they achieved a local cult following with the lineup of Count (Nathen Garza) on vocals, A.J. on guitar, Danny on drums, and Benny on bass (Benny was later replaced by Dave of the band Enemy 13). Med-x released one self-titled recording in 2004, containing the popular songs "Clarabella" and "Vertical Cock" (a play on the El Paso punk band Vertigo Shock). The band's relationship of being on the rocks throughout their exsistence, however, is well known among fans. A.J. had been accused over the years of running the band as a dictatorship, and not allowing the band's credibility to be shared with other members. It has also been known that A.J. became extremely unhappy with the fact that Count's popularity with their fans had overshadowed his own. The band announced their break-up in May 2006, citing differences between band members. However, talk of A.J. starting the band with an entirely new line-up has surfaced, being met with extreme protest from Med-x fans, and being compared with the "Jerry Only Misfits" fiasco. Danny has been rumored to be planning a move to Las Vegas. Dave has continued with his band Enemy 13. Count has joined the El Paso punk band Rotten Future, and is in the process of starting a new band, which is causing much anticipation with El Paso fans.
