Medal of Honor: Airborne is the next installment in the long-running Medal of Honor series of World War II first-person shooters. It is being developed by Electronic Arts' Los Angeles studio for release on the Sony PlayStation 2, Microsoft Xbox, Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, Wii, and PC.
Overview
In Airborne, the player will take on the role of Private first class Boyd Travers, a paratrooper in the U.S. 82nd Airborne Division. Travers' insertion into major engagements in Sicily, France, Holland, and Germany will reportedly be controllable by the player. The chosen landing zone will, according to the Electronic Arts' announcement, affect the course of the subsequent mission.History
Airborne was originally rumored to be a launch title for the PlayStation 3, but has since been confirmed for other platforms as well. No screenshots and little information was available until it appeared on the cover of the February 2006 issue of Game Informer magazine. It is the first console game in the series to have PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions, but skipped the Nintendo GameCube (though it was recently announced by Nintendo at E3 that a version for their next generation home console, Wii, will be released). A trailer for the game was shown at E3 2006. Many presume it to be a pre-rendered movie due to the impressive graphical quality of the trailer, but as with almost everything regarding the upcoming consoles, is entirely up for debate.Game Features
In Airborne the player will be able to loosley control where they land, affecting the mission in one way or another. They can also have customizable weapons that you can upgrade with authentic parts. These upgrades stay with them through the game, so there is no need to upgrade the same weapon with the same part over and over again. There will also be the most beliveable humans in game thanks to the U-Cap sytem from the Matrix. In addition to that the game will feature Havok phyics on the PCExternal links
