Around the Station
It is a small station situated between bustling Ikebukuro and relatively quiet Takadanobaba. On the station's right is the co-ed campus of Gakushuuin University and Mejiro Elementary School, and to the left is a row of shops and restaurants. By looking straight ahead from Mejiro Station's main exit, one can see far into the horizon, a rare sight in downtown Tokyo. Mejiro Station is also somewhat rare in that, although possessing only a single exit, there are several small shops and a large bakery/cafe within the station, making it an ideal meeting point for people unfamiliar with the Tokyo rail system.
History
Opened on March 16, 1885, it is now used by about 40,000 passengers each day.Adjacent stations
