Tram route 96 is a public transport service in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The tram line originates in East Brunswick and runs down Nicholson Street between the suburbs of Fitzroy and Carlton. It then passes through the CBD on Bourke Street before descending through South Melbourne via light rail tracks. Stopping at the South Melbourne Market the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC), Fitzroy Street and St. Kilda. At the former terminus (St Kilda Railway Station) the tram rejoins the streets and moves to Acland Street St Kilda where it terminates. Like most tram routes in Melbourne, it falls within Metcard ticketing Zone 1.
