Mentonasque

Encyclopedia : M : ME : MEN : Mentonasque

Mentonasque or Mentonnais (in French), also called Mentonasc [meⁿtu'naʃk] in Occitan, is an Occitan subdialect, traditionally assigned to the Occitan language (Provençal Niçard dialect) but it shows some transition features to Ligurian (Northern Italian) dialects spoken near Ventimiglia, Sanremo (intemelio) and the Upper Roya Valley (royasque/roiasc).

It is spoken by a minority in the city of Menton and surrounding villages.
