The Mercedes-Benz C219 automobiles began production in 2005. The platform is based on the W211 E-Class. They were sold as the CLS-Class "4-door coupe", although the bodystyle is properly termed a 4-door sedan, similar to the fastback sedan designs created by Robert Opron in the 1970's.
