. Meridian Tonight is the flagship news programme in the Meridian ITV region. It broadcasts at 6pm every weeknight. Like all ITV plc regional news programmes, it uses the generic ITV font and idents.

There are 3 versions of the programme for each respective Meridian sub-region: Meridian South East (Kent, Medway, East Sussex and Brighton and Hove), Meridian South (Brighton and Hove, West Sussex, southern Hampshire, Portsmouth, Southampton, Bournemouth and eastern Dorset), and Meridian West (northern Hampshire, Wiltshire and Berkshire).

It was announced on 6th June 2006 that the existing Meridian West region would merge with a part of the Central South region to form a new ITV Thames Valley region.
