The Miami language is a Native American language formerly spoken in the United States, primarily in northern Indiana and Ohio by members of the Miami tribe. Miami is a Central Algonquian language of the Algic phylum. It is part of a larger language grouping referred to as Miami-Illinois, and is extensively documented in written materials for over 200 years. The language is currently considered extinct, although efforts are underway to revive it.
