Michael Musto is an Italian-American Manhattan-based writer who began his career at The Village Voice, where he writes the weekly () La Dolce Musto celebrity and gossip column. He has since become somewhat of a media gadfly.
He has appeared numerous times on shows such as Countdown with Keith Olbermann and the E! channel. He is openly gay and is published regularly in various gay publications such as Out Magazine and ShowPeople. He appeared as a drag queen in the music video for Cyndi Lauper's single "Hey Now (Girls Just Want To Have Fun)", as a reporter in the film Garbo Talks, and as a zombie in the film Day of the Dead.
Recently, Musto was named Best Gossip Columnist in a poll conducted by nycsidewalk.com and in 2002, a UPI profile of Musto called him "one of the wittiest stylists in the English language."
Musto is also the author of Downtown, and Manhattan on the Rocks.
