Miju Mishmi is a tribe of the Mishmi people, along with the Idu, also known as Yidu Lhoba, and the Digaru. They are related to the Nishi tribe living in the Papumpare, Darrang and Subansiri districts. The Miju live in the higher reaches of Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh. Of late, with the formation of Anjaw district from the Northern part of Lohit, their habitat at Hayuliang was being encompassed as part of Anjaw.
The Miju Mishmi are mainly followers of Donyi-Polo. Those who live among the Tibetans have adopted Tibetan Buddhism.
