Mikhail Meltyukhov

Mikhail Ivanovich Meltyukhov (also spelled Meltiukhov, Russian: Михаил Иванович Мельтюхов) is a Russian military historian. Currently he is working at Russian Institute of Documents and Historical Records Research. In 1995, he defended the dissertation (“Contemporary Historiography on Pre-history of the Great Patriotic War” [#endnote_1995]) on historiography concerning the beginning of World War 2. Since the previous decade, he has published several studies, many of which are notable for the critical review of the official Soviet conceptions of the World War 2. Most important works of the kind are “The Canon of the Great Patriotic War: the Debate Goes on”[#endnote_1999a] and “Stalin's Missed Chance”[#endnote_2000].
