Due to Montenegro's separation from the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro, the Military of Serbia and Montenegro has been inherited by Serbia, and is now called the Military of Serbia. The Ministry of Defense of Serbia and Montenegro announced that by decision of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia on June 05, the Ministry of Defense of Serbia and Montenegro came under the control of the Republic of Serbia. The Military of Serbia will use the insignia of the Military of Serbia and Montenegro until further decisions are made.
