Minamiawaji, Hyogo

Minamiawaji (南あわじ市; -shi) is a city located in the southern part of Awaji Island in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan.
The city was formed on January 11, 2005 from the merger of all four towns of the former Mihara District: Midori, Seidan, Mihara and Nandan.
As of February 1, 2005 the city has an estimated population of 54,708 and a density of 239 persons per km². The total area is 229.17 km².
