This article describes minor characters who are named in the Book of Genesis, but about whom little else is known.

Abiasaph

Abiasaph (meaning: "father of gathering") was the youngest of the three sons of Korah the Levite, who led a revolt against Moses mentioned in the Hebrew Bible.

Abimael

In [Genesis 10:28], Abimael is the ninth of the 13 sons of Joktan, a descendant of Shem. He is also mentioned in [1 Chronicles 1:22]. Abimael means my father is God.

Adbeel

In [Genesis 25:13], Adbeel is the third of the 12 sons of Ishmael. Some scholars believe Adbeel to also be the name of a tribe in northwest Arabia.

Ajah

In [Genesis 36:24] and [1 Chronicles 1:40], Ajah is a son of Zibeon. Ajah means hawk.

Akan

In [Genesis 36:27] Akan is a son of Ezer and grandson of Seir the Horite. In [1 Chronicles 1:42] he is called Jaakan.

Alvah

In [Genesis 36:40], Alvah is a chief of Edom and a descendant of Esau. In [1 Chronicles 1:51] he is called Aliah.

Alvan

In [Genesis 36:23], Alvan is the eldest son of Shobal and a descendant of Seir the Horite. In [1 Chronicles 1:40] he is called Alian.

In The Actual Cultture it's said that Alvan has been Rebon into a human around the 22 to 29 years old, who is recognized as one of the most powerful warriors in several diciplines, and it's radicated in north, central or south America, presuntly Mexico City.

Amminadab

Anah

In the Book of Genesis, there are two men and one woman named Anah.
  1. In [Genesis 36:2,14,18,25], Anah is a daughter of Zibeon, and her daughter Aholibamah is a wife of Esau.
  2. In [Genesis 36:20,29] and [1 Chronicles 1:38], Anah is a son of Seir and a brother of Zibeon chief of the Horites. Some auhorities claim this is a tribal name, not a personal name.
  3. In [Genesis 36:24] and [1 Chronicles 1:40-41], Anah is a son of Zibeon, and is famed for discovering hot springs.

Ard

Ard was the tenth son of Benjamin in Genesis 46:21.

Ehi

In [Genesis 46:21], Ehi is the third son of Benjamin. In [1 Chronicles 8:1] he is called Ahahrah, and in [Numbers 26:38] he is called Ahiram.

Elisheba

Elon

An Elon (Hebrew אֵילֹן "Oak", Standard Hebrew Elon, Tiberian Hebrew ʼÊlōn) is also mentioned in the Book of Judges.

Enoch

In [Genesis 4:17-18], Enoch is the firstborn son of Cain and the father of Irad. Cain named the city of Enoch after his son.

Gera

In [Genesis 46:21] Gera is a son of Benjamin.

Heber

Heber or Chéver (חֶבֶר / חָבֶר, ("friend", "connected"), Standard Hebrew Ḥéver / Ḥáver, Tiberian Hebrew Ḥéḇer / Ḥāḇer) is the grandson of the patriarch Asher mentioned at [Genesis 46:17] and in [Numbers 26:45]. Heber probably should not be confused with the Eber who was Noah's descendant.

Hezron

Hezron or Hetzron (חֶצְרוֹן "Enclosed", Standard Hebrew Ḥeẓron, Tiberian Hebrew Ḥeṣrôn) is the name of two men.

Huppim

Huppim was the ninth son of Benjamin in Genesis 46:21.

Irad

In [Genesis 4:18], Irad is the son of Enoch, the grandson of Cain and the father of Mehujael.

Izhar

Izhar (Also known as Yitzhar) was a son of Kohath who was the son of Levi, the son of Jacob. He is known because he is the father of Korach.

Jabal

In [Genesis 4:20] Jabal is a descendant of Cain, the son of Lamech and Adah, brother of Jubal. His descendants live in tents.

Jubal

In [Genesis 4:21] Jabal is a descendant of Cain, the son of Lamech and Adah, brother of Jabal. His descendants were musicians.

Mehujael

In [Genesis 4:18] Mehujael is a descendant of Cain, the son of Irad and the father of Methusael.

Merari

Merari "sad"; "bitter" in Hebrew. According to the Hebrew Bible he was the youngest son of Levi, born before the descent of Jacob into Egypt, and one of the seventy who accompanied him thither. He became the head of one of the great divisions of the Levites. ([Genesis 46:11] and [Exodus 6:16]

Methusael

In [Genesis 4:18] Methusael is a descendant of Cain, the son of Mehujael and the father of Lamech.

Mishael

Muppim

Muppim was the eighth son of Benjamin in Genesis 46:21.

Naaman

Naaman is the fifth son of Benjamin in Genesis 46:21.

Rosh

Rosh is the seventh son of Benjamin in Genesis 46:21.

Shobal was a Horite chief in the hill country of Seir during the days of Esau. He was a son of Seir the Horite, and his sons were Alvas, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho and Onam. He is mentioned in [Genesis 36:20-29].

Tola

A Tola (תּוֹלָע "Worm; grub", Standard Hebrew Tolaʻ, Tiberian Hebrew Tôlāʻ) is also mentioned in the Book of Judges.

Tubalcain

In [Genesis 4:22] Tubalcain is a descendant of Cain, the son of Lamech and Zillah, brother of Naamah. His descendants were metal workers.

Uzziel

Uzziel was a Levite of ancient Israel who is mentioned in the Hebrew Bible. He is a son of Kohath, and fathered three sons: Mishael, Elzaphan, and Sithri. He is also the uncle of Aaron.

Zillah

In [Genesis 4:19,22-23] Zillah is a wife of Lamech and the mother of Tubalcain and Naamah.

Ziphion

Ziphion is a son of Gad. This may have a connection with the Angel, Zephon.
