Miroslav Ivanov

Miroslav Ivanov (1929, Jozefov nad Metují - 1999, Prague) was popular Czech nonfiction writer. He was a member of CPC - Communist Party of Czechoslovakia.
His father was executed during Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia. Ivanov studied history and Czech language at the Charles University in Prague. For seven year he worked at the university, since 1960 worked as journalist and then started to publish books. He concentrated on medieval and modern history of Czech people and published 37 works (1.5 million of books printed). He was also known outside Czechoslovakia.
In his books he used very systemic approach of fact gathering and employed modern scientific technologies to verify these facts: for example he was the first one to test Rukopis královédvorský a zelenohorský (fake collection of ancient writings) using modern criminalistic methods.
