Misato Watanabe (渡辺 美里 Watanabe Misato, born 12 July, 1966) is a female Japanese popular music artist.

Biography

Born in Kyoto Prefecture and graduated from Matsubara High School (Tokyo) where she was an assistant in the rugby team, which had an emotional influence on her music life.

Career

Her debut single 'I'm free' was released by Epic Sony (now Epic Record Japan) on 2 May 1985. Her first number-one national chart place was 'My Revolution', composed by Tetsuya Komuro, in 1986. Every summer during 1986 to 2005, she performed live concerts in Seibu Lions Studium (now Invoice Seibu Dome) in Tokorozawa City of the Saitama Prefecture, near Tokyo.

She made her first appearance on the yearly New Year's Eve special Kōhaku Uta Gassen in 2005. She performed one of the most popular songs, 'My Revolution'.
