Mixmag is the world's biggest selling dance music and clubbing magazine. Mixmag began in the mid 1980s. It covers dance events and reviews music and club nights. They supply readers with information regarding the rules and regulations of the night club industry and in its 20+ year history invented the mix CD and have coined terms and phrases to describe genres and conventions within dance music.
Mixmag, in association with their publishing company DMC Publishing, released a series of CDs under the heading Mixmag Live. Mixmag was sold to EMAP in the mid 90's before being bought by Development Hell in Dec 2005.
In the USA, Mixmag's sister company Mixer perform the same duties, producing the American equivalent magazine and releasing CDs.
