Moisés Silva

Dr. Moisés Silva is a professor of biblical studies and has taught at Westmont College. He was one of the translators of the New American Standard Bible and has authored or coauthored several books including Invitation to the Septuagint, God, Language, and Scripture, and Has the Church Misread the Bible?: The History of Interpretation in the Light of Current Issues.
He studied at the University of Manchester under Professor James Barr. Barr's The Semantics of Biblical Language (1961) was a strong influence on Silva's Biblical Words and Their Meaning (1983), which challenged common linguistic fallacies in biblical interpretation.
