Monkey Business is the fourth album by The Black Eyed Peas, released in various countries in late May to early June 2005 (see 2005 in music).
Album Information
The first single released from the album was "Don't Phunk with My Heart". Many of the songs from the album were recorded within the United Kingdom. "Don't Phunk With My Heart" was soon followed by instant hit "Don't Lie" in August/September 2005. Their third hit, "My Humps", reached number three on the U.S Billboard Hot 100."Pump It", which samples Dick Dale's hit "Misirlou" (also known as the theme to Quentin Tarantino's blockbuster Pulp Fiction), charted at #82 in June 2005 before a single release. It was later released as the fourth single and peaked at #18 in February 2006. A fifth song, "Dum Diddly," charted at #91 on the Pop 100 and is rumoured to be their fifth official single in summer 2006. The album's tracks earned the group four 2006 Grammy Award nominations and they won Best Rap Performance By a Duo or Group for "Don't Phunk With My Heart". The album was certified triple platinum by the RIAA in the US and has sold 3.7 million copies.
According to [IFPI]] (see IFPI), over 2 million copies have been sold in Europe.
