Monon Trail

The Monon Trail is a rails to trails bicycle and pedestrian trail that runs from Indianapolis, Indiana including Broad Ripple into Carmel, Indiana for 15.2 miles. The Indianapolis portion was completed in 1999 and the Carmel portion was opened between 2001 and 2002. The trail was part of railroad line operated by defunct Monon Railroad that ran from Indianapolis all the way to Delphi, Indiana but was abandonded in the mid-1980s.

In the future, the town of Westfield, Indiana plans to complete the trail towards Sheridan, Indiana.
