Moonlight cactus

Moonlight cacti or (genus Selenicereus) is a group of cacti found in Central America and the Caribbean. Its generic name comes from Latin and Greek and means "moon cactus". The term nightblooming cactus is also used for this genus, though it also refers to Hylocereus.
The following genera have been brought into synonymy with Selenicereus:
- Cryptocereus Alexander
- Deamia Britton & Rose
- Marniera Backeb.
- Mediocactus Britton & Rose
- Strophocactus Britton & Rose
- Strophocereus Fric & Kreuz. (orth. var.)
Also note that some would include in this genus the genus Hylocereus.
