Mora is a Municipality in Dalarna County, in central Sweden. Its seat is in Mora (pop. 11,000).
The town is located on the northern shore of lake Siljan. The northern part of the municipality marks the beginning of the Scandinavian mountain range.
The house where Swedish painter Anders Zorn was born in 1860 is in Mora and has been turned into a museum.
Mora is also known as the end of the Vasaloppet, an enduring 90 kilometers long skiing event, with more than 15,000 annual participants. This has been made in honour of the King Gustav Vasa in the 16th century, who was held to have skiid between Mora and the town Sälen while escaping from Danes.
