Encyclopedia : M : MO : MOS : Moses Gill
Moses Gill (1746 - May 20, 1800) was a U.S. political figure. He served as the governor of Massachusetts from 1799 to 1800. He became Governor after the death of his predcessor, Increase Sumner.
He died on May 20, 1800, just one year after taking office. He had no Lieutenant Governor, because of this, there was no one in place to serve. For eight days, the Governor's Council ruled the state until the election of Caleb Strong.
