While "Mr. Jinx" was not a hit for Quarashi, the song has been used as background music for several T.V. shows, but "Mr. Jinx" is probably best known for being the song heard during commercials for The NBA On TNT from 2003-2005. "Mr. Jinx" was also featured in the best selling video game, Madden NFL 2003.
The \"Mr. Jinx\" Music Video
The music video for "Mr. Jinx" is a favorite of Quarashi fans, and argubably the best music video Quarashi ever did. Directed by Charles Jensen and produced by Bob Sexton, the video is a homage to the 1998 film, Run Lola Run, and stars Hössi Olafsson, one of the members of Quarashi, as himself, trying to get to a Quarashi gig on time. The music video for "Mr. Jinx" was released on September 3, 2002. It was voted as the MTV's Viewers Pick for the week of September 20, 2002, and was in regular rotation on MTV, MTV2, and Much Music. Unfourtunaley, by November 2002, the video was no longer being played on any of those channels, and infact, has never been played on any of those channels since. - New York City's "Sanity" was also sampled in the Dilated Peoples' song, "Proper Propaganda" which appeared on their 2001 album, Expansion Team.
- The tunnel and the highway somewhere in California shown in the "Mr. Jinx" music video were shown again in the music video for The Pussycat Dolls' hit single, "Don't Cha".
