Mt. Gilbert

Mount Gilbert, the sixth highest named peak of the Ruby Mountains and the eighth highest in Elko County, is located in the northeast portion of the state of Nevada in the western United States. It rises from the head of Seitz Canyon, and is part of the west wall of Right Fork Canyon (a branch of Lamoille Canyon). It is a spectacular part of the view from the road in Lamoille Canyon, rising over 4100 feet (1250 m) above the canyon floor at Camp Lamoille. The summit is a high glacial horn at an elevation of 11,120 feet (3389 m), located at 40°37.45'N and 115°26.77'W, about 22 miles southeast of the community of Elko.
