Mubende
Encyclopedia : M : MU : MUB : Mubende
Mubende is a district in central Uganda. Like other Ugandan districts, it is named after its 'chief town'. Mubende was reduced in size in July 2005 with the creation of the new District of Mityana. The district is home to the Nakayima tree, said to hold the spirit of Ndahura, a former Bacwezi king. The Nakayima tree is a pilgramage site for Bacwezi cultists today.
