A mug is a heavy, larger-sized cup, usually used to hold warm beverages and soups. It's usually made of either thicker ceramic or stoneware, but is occasionally made of glass or metal.

It's also an acronym for "male unbifurcated garment," an acronym coined in the mid-1990's as a collective term for the varied forms of non-pant clothing worn by men around the world.
