Mukesh is a popular Malayalam film actor. He entered the Malayalam film industry through the movie 'Balloon' in the late 1970s. Since then, Mukesh has acted in numerous movies and has been successful in doing romantic roles blended with comedy, which continues to be well received by the audience. His popular movies include 'Godfather', 'In Harihar Nagar', 'Ramjirao Speaking', 'Mannar Mathai Speaking', etc.
Mukesh (who’s boyhood name was Mukesh Babu) is the son of famous stage actor, director and drama troupe organiser, the late O. Madhavan. Mukesh’s mother Vijayakumari was also a popular stage actress and once winner of the Kerala State award for best stage actress. Mukesh, who hails from Pattathanam in Kollam town, did his schooling at Infant Jesus Anglo Indian High School in Tangasseri, and took his Batchelor of Science degree from Sree Narayana College in Kollam. He is also a Law graduate from the Law Academy, Thiruvanathapuram.
From an early age, the schoolboy Mukesh Babu showed an aptitude, in general, for performing arts and, in particular, proved to be a talented mono-actor. His mono-act and stage performances during school and college days led the way to his professional stage career in his family owned drama troupe, Kalidasa Kala Kendram, before becoming a movie actor.
Mukesh’s wife is Saritha, a once leading lady and famous Tamil film actress who acted in several roles in South Indian films including the national award winning film “Thaneer Thaneer” in 1981.
