The Multimedia Development Corporation (MDC) is a government-owned institution responsible for the management of the Multimedia Super Corridor in Malaysia as a world-class technology industry and commerce zone.
The MDC is charged with:
- attracting international ICT (information-communication technology) businesses to set up shop in the MSC, and providing them technical and administrative assistance in doing so
- engender relationships between MSC businesses
- attracting talented ICT professionals to work in the MSC
- connect new business operations with quality employees (through its KWX subsidiary)
- manage the digital infrastructure of the MSC area (through its MSCTC subsidiary) and security (through its Trustgate subsidiary, which is also a commercial service)
- encourage investment in MSC businesses (through its MSCVC subsidiary)
- advise the government on the development of technology-related laws
- maintain the MSC's commercial and residential services
