Murphy Lee was born Torhi Murphy Lee Harper on December 18, 1979, to a single mother in St. Louis, Missouri. He was raised in the city of U-City aka University City, Missouri in St. Louis County, Missouri. Murphy was raised with older brother Kyjuan and thier sisters and younger brothers. After first appearing on co St.Lunatic member Nelly's 1st release Country Grammar in 2000, Murph went on to work with some of the elite in the rap game. Icluding Jermaine Dupri, Lil Wayne, The Ying Yang Twins and many more. Releasing his debut solo album Murphy's Law in 03, Murph won a grammy for the song "Shake your tailfeather" ft. Nelly and Diddy. The album would eventually go platinum. Continuing the platinum streak the Tics started back in 2000 with Nelly's first album.

He is also the owner of Good for You Cafe, now with 2 locations in St. Louis,which offers not only Vegitarian dishes, but meals everyone can enjoy.Murph has also expanded his buisness with the advent of his own label "U-C-ME Entertainment" and his latest venture a Promotion Company (Exclusive Promotional Products) for up and coming artists. Murphy Lee has released 3 mixtapes of his own, and appeared on his own artists CDs, such as younger brother "Futurre's" Group "Da Camp" and R & B goddess "Zee", as well as "Prentiss Church", "Potzee" & "Quor 03".

His sophmore album is slated to be released in 06 entilted "The Package", however no offical release date is yet available. He also has signed on to host HBO's new reality show entitled "Da Grind" a show about real up and coming artists and thier struggles trying to make it in the industry.
